ColorGenics Personality Test

right, was bored and blog surfing when i came across this at waixin's blog.

really is kinda cool how they use just color to predict u =) anyway, all for fun =D

and here are my results:

You are always alert and keenly observant. You are not truly satisfied with your everyday status and you are seeking fresh avenues which can give you the opportunity to prove your worth. You feel that there are still many barriers that stand between you and recognition - but one by one you will overcome them. Your tenacity is your one good point - like an English Bulldog, once you take the bite, you will seldom let go.

You enjoy taking part in anything that may constitute fun and excitement. You need to be stimulated and need to feel that 'Life is worth living' and you are awaiting that stimulation and you don't particularly care where it comes from! (how true!!)

The way things are at this time it is necessary to 'go slow'. All the pleasures that you have anticipated should be left in abeyance until some future date, but all is not lost, you are able to derive and achieve considerable gratification from someone quite close to you. (ohhh you have no idea how slowww i'm going, my essay is being written a paragraph a day)

You are very restless and inclined to be depressed - and try as you may you feel that you are unable to control the situation in which you now find yourself. You refuse point blank to relinquish control of your feelings and to place yourself in other people's hands. It would appear that there is a condition or a relationship on the horizon which you feel could cause you further unwarranted aggravation and stress. This is the last thing you need at this time. There must be more to life than the present situation. You are not quite sure what you are looking for and so you tend to be impatient and irritable until what you seek presents itself to you. You need to get away from this unsatisfactory state of mind, especially now, as you find that your powers of concentration are suffering. (how true!! i'm always distracted and the only thing i can concentrate on is the pirated show i'm watching online)

Being afraid that you may be prevented from achieving your hopes and dreams is making you anxious and nervous. As a dreamer your ideas can at times move into the realm of fantasy and you could be following that so called illusive dream. (heh, this parts abit off, i nervous and anxious coz i HAVE no dreams and hopes and THAT is making me worried)

water shortage. . . .

heard that some water pipe burst in town. and now there's water shortage in school.

had a hell of a time cooking lunch with at first only boiling hot water coming out of the taps and den pretty soon no water at all. its a miracle we managed to even boil rice.

after we came back from grocery shopping, there were notices up everywhere saying that for the time being, all water from the taps that is used for consumption or for food preparation should be boiled first.

and den, when we were cleaning up after dinner, we noticed that . .. the water was cloudy. imagine a glass of water, den add a spoon full of milk, like that cloudy. and it was only noticeable when we were washing our black plate/dish. which means that we didnt notice the icky water when we were preparing our food coz . . .we just washed the veggies/meat. nvr really filled a plate with water or anything.

oh well. if i got diarrhea tmr. . . at least i will noe why =P

the valhala ride. insane. see all that water cascading down? yeah, it felt like we were dragged through that much water in the ride. came out super soaking. we had to stand under hte hand dryers in the toilets for ages. but the ride was cool. dark, lots of special effects. fast. occasional steep drops and backwards riding. and best of all, the firey explosions at the end as our boat went past this dark cave lined with fire pits or something. damnn cool. they exploded as we were riding past.
jane and karina after the valhala ride.
and this is where people get off the valhala ride.
this is actually a really fast ride.but mild compared to the other rides.

some hanted ghost train ride! very cute! very fun! u go through the ride pair by pair. its very fast, with lots of spooky effects like falling walls screaming images, etc. and its very bumpy and jerky and dark sometimes. ends with a steep slope but not very scary.
now u can see the actual size of my new bag =) small but extremely useful =)

another ride. this was quite interesting as part of it went through a nearby food place that sold southern fried chicken and u could wave at the ppl eating fried chicken. and also look down and see another ride that intersected into the same food court. very interesting.

i like how this shot turned out =) despite my shaky hands and super strong winds.
so cold lah up there.
free fall. i just watched my friend sit it. haha i have no guts.
bumper cars! damnnnn fun. i never knew it was so satisfying to crash into ppl.

new blog skin!

new blog skin! (obviously)

i like it coz:
1) its got a HUGE post space can fit videos/pictures =)
2) love the faded floral imprint thing at the top
3) love textured backgrounds way better than plain colored backgrounds
4) think the theme of the skin quite reflects what i'm feeling now
5) love the pastel colors =) (original colors were a bit brighter i think, i toned it down a bit)

oh and i got it off www.blogskins.com, the person who created this is seriosly talented. (shes credited at the bottom on the side panel btw) really loved some of her other skins but their themes not very me so i used this instead =)

oh yeah, so all i did was change around the font colours a bit. put in all the hearts =) and. .. . my revived my tagboard which was apparently missing for hte last 6 months haha.

sadly, there goes my archery slideshow thing. unless i can figure out how to put it in.

Pleasure Beach - Infusion

oh my god! i went to this themepark yesterday (Pleasure Beach Blackpool) and sat on this absolutelt brilliant ride. it was DAMN goood! the first drop is amazing. so steeep and so long i couldnt scream long enough. and was left alternating between gasping for breath and screaming my lungs out at the same time for the rest of the ride. its suspended over a pool of water and loops several times sometimes twisting over and over again sideways and backwards and we even went down a steep drop backwards once i think. my stomach fell. lol. all at the speed of 85mph. i screamed my lungs raw. lol

here's a video of the ride in action:

and here's its page on the pleasure beach website:
http://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/rides/infusion/114/1/

and here are a few pics!

and that red bag? thats my new little red leather bag =) extremely useful! looks nice and small but can actually stuff lots of things. alhtough its not exactly waterproof. my digicam was inside and got a little wet on this other ride i sat that left me dripping wet in the cold weather and harsh winds.i bought it at York i htink.
this long steep drop nearest to the railing is the initial first drop. they really lay the suspense on thick by making u slowly inch ur way to the top before that.

and that loop behind it in the foreground, ithink thats the one we went backwards on. amazing!
model of the entire ride.

and this is how it goes all twirly and twisty like a spring.

remembering nus archery.. . . .

i was bored today and decided to watch a movie from my external hard disk when i discovered the handover video made by the 0506 exco when we took over last year. and so i decided to watch that instead (yes, its 40 mins long, almost as long as an episode of heroes)

anyway, the video really covered it all. the fun, the friends, the sweet victories, the hard work and sweat. and i realised that, i'm never gonna experience all that again in that same exhilarating mix. like imy said in the video, the range will nvr look the same again. and its true, once ur back as a senior, its different. so i just thot i'd like to write down all my thoughts before one day i forget what it felt like to be there. and i nvr really did pen down my handover thoughts, nvr did say what i wanted to the new exco. so here goes, its a bit rusty, 5 months in storage and all but its still what i feel =)

* * * * * *

when we took over as exco in early july last year, the feeling was surreal. it was like we'd suddenly been left on our own (just the 8 of us, then minus 2) to make HUGE decisions as to the future of the club. there were so many things to think about that for that first few mins there, i felt regret. i wondered if i'd entered into something too big for me to handle. i was afraid, that we werent going to be able to match up with wat the previous exco had accomplished.

for the first time since entering nus archery, i felt like we were the only ones truly INTO the club at that moment. the seniors were off happily celebrating the fact that a huge load of responsibility had slid off their shoulders and there weren't any juniors to speak of yet.

and the first few months were really trial and error for all of us. we grew to know each other even more deeply than we did before, we made decisions together (most of hte time), quarrelled and argued over equally important and unimportant stuff and learned from our mistakes.

and then, school started, and we recruited a brand new batch of archers. our new junior com. finally, we weren't the only ones passionate about the club and the sport anymore, new blood! trainings started as well and it was good to see the seniors come back, it started to feel like old days again, except that not everyone came back, and definitely not as often. we tried our best to create the same atmosphere and spirit for the juniors as we had gone thru a year back. all the camaraderie, lame jokes, close friendships. and although, we never did have as many archery outings as we did with our seniors when we were juniors, i'm still amazed that we managed to form so many close ties. even taking modules together and everything. i remember being particularly glad that the juniors were also bonding amongst themselves. not sure about everyone else, but for me, it was the friendships in the club, the people that kept me coming back to it. some wouldve said that perhaps i've been too friendly and too close with the juniors that it ultimately blurred the line between the 2 of groups and stripped us of whatever authority that we had. but .. . .. i dunno. . . on one hand, it did feel like that towards the end, but that feeling was a good feeling. anyway, i just wanted to say that i was really glad that as the year passed, our juniors individually began proving themselves, whether in terms of shooting, cell work or both. several became people that i could depend on (and throw more sai gang to) and it became easier and easier to teach them about the running of hte club and our individual cell head roles and stuff like that when understudy period came around.

I wouldve liked to say that everyone was one big happy family, but i noe thats not the case. i could see that there were cliques and ppl werent bonding as much with other cliques. perhaps that is why, when the current exco took over, there also seems to be cliques amongst them. it is inevitable that the dominant ones take over, as in all groups, and the quieter ones fall by the side. come to think of it, i think i was probably a rather dominant one too. i think. i remember vaguely arguing and pushing my point all the time. hmm.

although i'd have to say that we never really did have a clique problem when we were juniors. it was more like a gender divide than anythign else. or maybe i was just too in my own world to notice any cliques if they formed. although i really think there werent any. or that many for htat matter. i think. hmm. i cant really remember, my junior year seems to be a blur of activities, medals and fun.

anyway, handover came for us quicker than i'd expected. perhaps i was reluctant to let go. it seemed like we'd just gotten comfortable as exco, learned through all our mistakes the first time round and now we'd have to give up our seats.

on that last day, it struck me that we'd nvr again have the opportunity to work together like we did in the past year. nvr be able to lead the juniors, teach them new things, organize succesfull events, curse and swear and sweat profusely while organizing these events. and going down to the nitty gritty details to make sure everything was going to plan. was abit sad at letting go, but i'm glad that we had a solid group of juniors to take over. it makes me proud to see where they are now coz i helped shaped their passion for this sport =) i'm glad that we helped put great archery memories into their junior year lives, enough for them to want to step up and lead the new batch.

like i said, its rather patchy and its most likely that i've forgotten a whole lot of other significant happenings but, heres the bulk of it. raw and 5 mths in storage. well, u have to understand that i really didnt have as much time then as i have now.

oh! and its now, halfway across the world, and in a different time zone and definitely different climate, that i miss everyone the most. i miss the lounge, i miss the range, i miss my bow, i miss my arrows, i miss friday nights at RVR, and the list goes on.
